How Your Gift Makes a Difference

By supporting the HJH Foundation you help us keep books in the hands of children and access to information available to everyone.

With your donation and through substantial discounts from wholesalers and publishers we are able to purchase new books at very low prices.  We are also able to pay for the cost of shipping of donated new books.

Your donation helps support the San Juan del Sur Biblioteca which houses over 12,000 books and is equipped with computers and access to the Internet. Classes held here include English as a second language, public health, and arts education. The library also supports local schools by providing curriculum materials and basic school supplies for students and teachers.

Your contribution also helps support the Mobile Project, which offers a regularly scheduled service to 36 surrounding communities.   The Mobile Project serves as a vital link between remote villages and the town of San Juan del Sur by offering rural residents with equal access to public services.  In addition to library and information services, the Mobile Project provides medical and dental clinics, optometric services, and building improvements by partnering with international organizations such as VOSH and Rotary International.

The San Juan del Sur Biblioteca and the Mobile Project are a source for training and employment of local Nicaraguans.  The librarians, drivers, and educators are local people.  The project is grassroots and non-partisan.

Please join us in helping assure the future for Nicaraguans by supporting our library programs.
